Vista Alegre has been making porcelain and crystal in Portugal since 1824.

The Bicos collection traces its roots to 1901, when these distinctive biquinhos - Portuguese for little spikes - first appeared in a catalogue from one of Portugal's historic glassmaking centers. Originally crafted through hand-cut glass techniques, the design evolved into the pressed-glass method still used today.
